Cardinal Martini Leadership Institute

The idea of a leadership institute was conceived at the time Bethlehem University awarded an honorary doctorate to Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini. Subsequently, various friends of the University supported this idea and helped to secure funding to develop a leadership institute in the Cardinal’s honor. A think tank comprised of Palestinian and expatriate academics and NGO leaders was formed to develop the concept of the Cardinal Martini Leadership Institute consistent with the mission of Bethlehem University and responsive to the needs of the Palestinian people.

martiniOn 07 December 2008, Br. Robert Smith, Interim Vice Chancellor, and Institute Director Dr. Yousef Zaknoun met with Cardinal Martini in Milano, Italy, and briefed him about the latest development in the institute. The Cardinal encouraged us to continue our work on emphasizing "Leadership" at our society; he gave us some opinions and assured his continued support to our new Institute.


 
Women Debate

The Cardinal Martini Leadership Institute in cooperation with the Palestinian Women's Research & Documentation Center and the UNESCO established a forum for women debating leadership. This forum is prepared for women from Bethlehem District who work in administrative positions at NGO's, educational organizations, health organizations, etc. The forum started on 3 October 2009.
